Both fit the same profile: serious prompting software for the Apple ecosystem, often paired with hardware. The reasons people search for an alternative are mostly about that profile, not about quality:

• No Windows. Teleprompter Pro is iOS, iPad, and Mac. If you — or half your team — work on Windows or ChromeOS, it's simply not an option.
• It assumes a studio setup. The standout features (HDMI/AirPlay clean feed, mirrored output, remote control) shine when there's a beamsplitter rig in front of a camera. Reading at a laptop, most of that machinery goes unused.
