Product demos with every step in the right order
Whether it's a recorded walkthrough for your site or a live demo on a sales call, the failure mode is the same: "uh, let me go back" in the middle of showing your best feature. Lumi keeps the script in front of you — in the recorder for async demos, and invisibly over your shared screen for live ones.

A demo is a scripted performance pretending to be casual
Knowing your product inside out is precisely what makes demoing it hard. You've seen every screen ten thousand times, so on camera you skip the step that's obvious to you and baffling to the viewer, mention feature C before the feature B it depends on, and narrate half the walkthrough with "so then you just... click here."
Recorded walkthroughs expose this in editing: takes get scrapped because a step came out of order, and the "quick demo video" for the homepage eats a full day. Live demos expose it in revenue: with a prospect watching, you blank on the differentiator you planned to land, and there's no second take on a sales call.
The fix is unglamorous and effective: decide the words and the order in writing, then keep that script in view while you demo — without the audience ever seeing it.
Two demo modes, one script
- Recorded walkthroughs, first-take clean. Lumi's recorder and prompter share one window, so onboarding videos, homepage demos, and release walkthroughs come out with exact steps and zero "wait, let me redo that" — usually in one take.
- Live demos with an invisible talk track. In Meeting Mode on Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams, your script floats over the product while you share it — visible to you, absent from the prospect's view and from the call recording.
- Questions don't derail the tour. FlowPrompt pauses with your voice and resumes when you do, so a mid-demo objection or tangent costs nothing — you handle it and return to the exact next step.
- Version-to-version consistency. When the demo script is a document, new releases mean editing text, not re-memorizing a flow. Every AE, and every recording, reflects the current product.
- Confidential roadmap stays confidential. Scripts live locally on your machine and the desktop prompter works offline — unreleased-feature walkthroughs never pass through anyone's cloud.
From feature list to finished demo
- 1
Script the walkthrough like a route
Write the demo as the viewer experiences it: the problem, the aha moment early, then each step in strict click order. Note the exact phrasing for your differentiator — that's the sentence that can't come out improvised.
- 2
Pick the mode
Recording for your site or onboarding? Open Lumi's recorder with the script loaded. Live call? Join Zoom, Meet, or Teams with Meeting Mode on and share the product — the script rides on top, invisibly.
- 3
Demo at conversation speed
Talk like you're showing a colleague. FlowPrompt matches your pace through clicks, loading screens, and questions, so the script serves the demo instead of driving it.

Founders, AEs, and product marketers run the same play
A founder records the homepage walkthrough once, cleanly, instead of losing a Saturday to takes. An account executive runs live demos knowing the killer line about the integration will get said, word for word, on call one and call forty. A product marketer re-records the feature tour after each release by updating a text file. Different jobs, same mechanism: the demo follows a script the audience never sees.
The live-call side of this overlaps heavily with selling — the sales calls page covers discovery and objection handling, and the Zoom integration page details exactly how the overlay stays out of the share.
